Merry Christmas

Dear Member,

Another year has passed and we are getting ready for 2015. Can you believe it's already been a year?! Does anyone else feel like 2014 just started? Time flies! Thank you for your support and trust in us all these years. We've enclosed some coupons for you to show our appreciation and allow you to try some new things.

GROUP KICK has successfully launched and going strong! If you have not tried this mixed martial arts and boxing workout, you don't know what you're missing. Bring it on…with Group Kick !

In addition to Kick, we've added other Mossa programs to our group exercise programing. Group Power, Group Blast, and Group Centergy, as well as Group Kick. More great programs coming in 2015!

Coming in 2015 : New FreeMotion Incline Trainers. Use these to change up your cardio workout and maximize your burn using incline and speed. New plates for Group Power classes. And MYZONE which is a monitoring system that transmits heart rate, calories and effort in real time to a live display and wirelessly uploads that data to a logbook that can be accessed online or through the MYZONE App. Seeing your workout on the display in real time helps you get better results, plus you can compete with your friends. Also, be on the lookout for a Foxy's app! This will enable you to track workouts and view club events and class schedules easier plus some other cool features we're working on.

As we reflect on 2014, it's easy to get caught up in what have we done, but I think it's more important to reflect on how did we live. Did we treat others with respect, compassion, and professionalism? Did we do everything in our power to change lives every day? Were we, as Foxy's team, genuine with you, who look to us for guidance, motivation, and a sense of belonging? Were we role models? Did we inspire someone to make better choices or to live a fuller life, to accept a new challenge, or to achieve a dream? Did we do the right thing each and every day? This is true, not just at Foxy's, but in every encounter of life. The measurement of a life is not about things acquired but the impact left behind .

I want to share something that I've shared in the past, but you may not have seen it.

Seeing all the craziness in the world, it reminds me how short life is. Instead of getting caught up in the holiday hustle and bustle, I have taken a step back and realized all that I've been blessed with and the need to be thankful for every moment. I hug my babies tighter and tell them I love them and I'm proud of them just the way they are. I try to love my husband better and tell all of my loved ones what they mean to me. It's too easy to get wrapped up in "stuff" and forget what really matters. I take for granted that I am not promised tomorrow and so many times waste today.

Here are my thoughts for the holiday season and what this time of year should mean to all of us. I hope that many of these thoughts touch you as well:

  • I am safe, warm, prosperous and loved. People who I love surround me every day of my life. Most of you enjoy the same things. How much better does it have to get before you realize how much you have?
  • The people who work at the front counters in the stores, and in any business, are usually overworked, underpaid, and often supporting themselves with not much more than minimum wage. These people deserve our respect, not our anger. And while many of them are customer service challenged now and then, they have jobs, show up, do the job, and contribute to the world. Say thank you to these people and mean it.
  • There are people in our community, right here in Baton Rouge, who don't have enough to eat, are homeless, and are having a tough Christmas. Buy a few less presents and give to the organizations that help. These people are truly in trouble; they are not all scam artists trying to get a free meal or live off the system. These are people like you and I, and but for the grace of God, that might be us. Help and if the check didn't hurt it isn't enough.
  • Be grateful for what you have and say thank you. I am grateful for our members, your support over so many years, and what you bring to my life. We have created a business where people can be comfortable, get real information about fitness, and become most anything they want. Thank you, each and every one, for being part of my journey.
  • Don't forget that everyone struggles. We get through life holding hands with our friends, and there will never be a day that passes where someone does not falter. Friends pick you up, dust you off, and get you moving again. Be a friend this Christmas and find that friend who most needs a hand.

Our goal is to help you no matter where you are on the path to fitness. After all, fitness is really just about having the freedom to be able do what you want to do. Make 2015 the year that you become the person you've always wanted to be. We look forward to sharing this exciting journey with you. Thank you for your continued trust in us to serve you and change your life.

Studies show that people who have an exercise partner are more likely to be successful and reach their fitness goals. We want you to get results! Plus, everything is more fun with a friend. So, we have enclosed two 30-day gift certificates for you to give to friends who will support you on your fitness journey. Simply present the certificates to anyone you would like; they must activate their 30-day membership by Monday, February 2, 2015.

We hope that your holiday season is full of love, joy, and peace as you spend time with family and friends. Take some time to slow down, relax, and remember what the holidays are really about. Be grateful this year. Find time to move a little every day. Give until it hurts and by all means love those around you.

See you in the club soon! Yours in fitness,

The Barnetts & The Barretts
